    Maybe they are looking to sign someone who won't come if he's in charge?

    Interesting that this was the job to entice Fitzgibbon, seeing he had turned down every other offer so far.

    From the outside it looks to be handled really, really poorly. Fitzgibbon does seem like he'd be a decent coach but it's shabby treatment for Morris.

    I think what needs to be understood is Morris was off contract after this year. The club haven’t shafted him mid term of his contract to chase another head coach. They explored additional options for their 2022 coach and beyond while no one was contracted in the role. At the end of the day, this is what any normal business would do.

    I personally think Morris has been dealt a rough hand and has done an tremendous job under the circumstances, and I would have preferred him to continue on. He’s a good coach, and his ability to nurture junior footballers into adequate first grade players shouldn’t be understated.

    The process of the hiring of Fitzgibbon could have been handled better no doubt, however I think, as per the norm these days, the media have a lot to answer for in the hysteria that has come with this process.

    At the end of the day the club notified Morris that they weren’t going to extend his contract without seeing the teams performance and exploring their options at the start of the year. The confirmed report that we were chasing Craig Bellamy came out before the season had started.

    To say that the club sprung this on Morris, or did the wrong thing by exploring their coaching options for 2022 and beyond with no one contracted in the role for that time is a bit of a stretch.

    Respectable performance. TPJ dominated Kikau on the edge, and had To'o shitting himself. Lodge and Haas were both immense which allowed Croft to show he is first grade standard. Dearden unfortunately didn't show much at all.

    If Brisbane have 2 first grade standard centres tonight, and fucked off Glenn, they probably win.

    That win by the knights has got to be one of the most undeserving I’ve ever seen.

    Think they only ended up with 4 or 5 tackles in the oppositions 20 in that 2nd half, completely outplayed and the game winning try came off a bomb that was sliced 10m backwards followed by an eyes closed Hail Mary that just happened to land in the lap of a player with a clean run to the try line.

    Forgot what it’s like to watch your side when you know they’re no hope.

    To compound it JWH & SST both didn’t take part in the 2nd half which means they probably won’t be there next week for the Anzac Day clash - my favourite game of the year even more so given we missed it last year.
