Yeah Gutho may be a marginally better player (or maybe not, it's a bit of a toss up IMO) but Lomax is clearly a better centre. The biggest question marks over Lomax were over his defence, and Gutho's defence in the centres has left a lot to be desired anyway. He hasn't offered any of the surprise 'wrong side' sweep movements that Turbo and Hayne have offered from 'fullback at centre' selections in the past either.

As Parramatta captain Gutho is the King of the Spuds but I like him anyway. I think I'd bench him. We don't need a prop and three locks on the bench and his ability to play to 1-7 and 9 to at least first grade standard is really useful in the HIA era.

Welch comes back into the side, Allan on the wing and Grant on the bench.

    Hunt, Sami and Fotuaika dropped

Looks quite good on paper tbh.

Wouldn't be surprised if Allan plays mostly at fb with Holmes on the wing.

Still a bit odd persisting with the 3 big boppers on the bench given Yeo is excelling up the middle. If you really wanted the props fresh and are thinking Yeo is cover for the second rowers, I'd have thought the smart play would be McInnes on the pine ir Browns place.

How many minutes did Finucaine, Brown and Paulo each play?

Surely it's even more important having McInnes on the bench if the whole game plan is to bash them up the middle and be crafty around dummy half? Or is the thinking that Gutherson goes to hooker if Cook goes down? Or Walker with Wighton to 5/8th and Yeo centre?

Gutho's ended up at hooker for Parra a few times, and also played the fullback+dummy-half dual role ala Gidley at times. He was always fucking awesome at it. I'm confident in him as a backup hooker option.

The problem with this is that Crichton was also have to go to centre and Yeo would have to go to second row. 3/13 would be out of position, and in attack they'd handle it but in defence that's always a major problem.

If Gutho was straight up on the bench I think it'd be fine. But he's starting with four middles on the bench. It's weird.

I would probably just pick Cotric on the bench. He covers any injuries in the three-quarters and Wighton/Gutherson would cover injuries to the spine.

Did anyone else think Capewell sort of fell into having a good game in the opener? He was rubbish before he made that break and kick imo. I know there are very limited options but I’m glad they’ve persisted with him at centre.

Yep. There was still a couple of times that he was out of position in defence too. Hard to drop him given he made the most of his chances, but I'd be sending Teddy at him all day, even rig a few backline moves where Gutherson starts inside to Tedesco. Big second rower with a niggling injury out wide should be breakfast.

    Allan
    Holmes
    Gagai
    Lee
    Lee

That's what they should run with. It's a horrible state when you think about Brenko to improve your defence.

Edrick and Brenko Lee to debut. This is a dream, how good! Hahah

Quite a few empty seats... I thought they were allowed to sell out did that change?

  13. AVA T Delonge

Yep Gus, Cody Walker is definitely the best pick for fullback

How on earth was that not a penalty?

Fuck off Cummins you piece of shit.

  16. Magic AJ Parker

But it means Yeo has had to play out of position

    Munster killing it tonight.

I'm pretty well convinced j turbs should be dropped. Not the right fit at all, especially with 900 middles on the bench. Crichton's doing a fuckload of tight early runs while he's fucking around out the back.

With Cook and this 6 again if be getting another big dog in there spearing in

 I really don't know what Gus wants. If Wighton goes to fullback, Yeo is at the other centre. I think he deadset thinks we should have Yeo at 5/8.

NSW with 38% possession. Being down by 6 actually isn't that bad but the fatigue be a heavy weight they have to carry in the 2nd half.

I worry without Tedesco that NSW will fail to create anything. There were signs of Cleary/Walker lacking creativity in game 2 and it was pretty clear when we were in good ball again tonight.

Feels like Qlds to lose.. which Allan might just do for them.
