    through sheer luck of injury they get klemmer and pearce back giving them a better chance of winning now, and freddy will keep his job and still think he's a genius. they were almost completely dependent on maloney having to play well before.. if he had an avg or below game then wtf were they going to do? now if he has a mediocre game pearce can have a good game and cover it somewhat, or vice versa.

    I kind of disagree. Pearce is so dominant when he plays that if he has a shit game we automatically lose. That makes him a pretty risky player to bring in given his Origin history and the extra pressure that would be on him compared to any other half.

    I'm actually more pumped for the game now just because I like Pearce and would be fucking stoked to see him be an Origin hero, but I don't think it's actually a good call. Going with an option that more or less amounted to "eh this isn't our strength at the moment so we'll lessen the role of this pick, try to win up the guts by having picked good props and then let Cook and the two fullbacks we've picked get them up the guts" by picking Wighton or even *spews* Graham at 6 would've worked better I think. Pearce is the best 7 in the world IMO but probably not for this match.

    I like Graham as well. I was stoked he had such a good Origin finally so I could stop calling the Mitchell Pearce of the second row given I rate him higher than the other options as a player in general. But I wouldn't be happy with at 6 in a club game tbh, so it feels gross suggesting him for Origin there.

    I was legit shattered when I heard Pearce was in.

    The only positive I can take from this, is at least If we lose I'll have something to be happy about because the shitcunt still won't have a series win.

    Literally anyone is better.
    He's shown he can't handle origin, he's shown it 18 fucking times.

    Walker has a bad 40 minutes and gets blacklisted, yet Pearce is aids for 6 years and gets to come back.


    Don't get me wrong, I actually rate Pearce, at club level.
    He's just flat out not an origin player.
    I feel sick and ashamed every time I think about the fact that he's our most capped half.

    I honestly had more of a reaction to hearing he was in the team than I did hearing my grandmother died a few weeks back.
    Emotional gutpunch of the highest order.

    No one bags Pearce more than I, bringing him in is a huge risk, because if tis tight he may well just shit himself and I can't see him playing a secondary role to Maloney as Cleary/Graham did. It could/should throw out the whole dynamic and be a case of too many cooks.

    Sure he's shown he's not up to origin, however this Queensland origin side is not up to any he would've played before. He should have a good platform laid for him and he seems a more complete player than ever, so if he was ever going to make a fist of it, this is it.
