there's an unspoken trend where everyone feels like they have to rush and swamp the tryscorer with a fair amount of force when i'm pretty sure every player would prefer to be hugged and high fived instead after scoring a try. so often the players will run and put on half a hit in their hug and the tryscorer has to brace himself. and then some idiots like fifita will full run and jump on the circle of hugging players. who wants to deal with that honestly? all the time i see the tryscorer get smacked on the head too hard from a celebratory head pat and you can tell it hurts cause he flinches and puts his head down. we've seen them eye gouged before from it. and how often does a tryscorer want to take a breath and get up by himself but the celebrators feel like they have to physically rip him up from the ground and put a hit or a 'hug' on him?
I’d happily go back to the days of a firm handshake or pat on the back. The bro-love is over the top.
How good was that hit by Gutherson on Kaysa Pritchard today. He didn't even have any thought of celebrating with Kaysa just bowled him over and started celebrating by himself.
It's because of the amount of coconuts in the league. Same as the Windies introducing the high 5 to cricket. Unfortunately most kids under 30 want to be black.
And no hit will ever be bigger than the one Tunza put on Locky after his intercept origin try in 2006.
