Qld havent been penalised for holding down yet...? They've tried hard but pretty sure they havent been..

NSW playing with too much width. Need to get to playing more direct, wasting at least 2 plays every set trying to get on the outside of QLD atm.

  3. Magic AJ Parker

Penalised for a 1 on 1 strip... Cmon!

  4. Magic AJ Parker

Fuck Billy Slater is such a gun at defending kicks. Some of his pick ups and positioning tonight has been nothing short of freakish.

  5. Magic AJ Parker

FFS we have really bottled this second half. Looking really fatigued now too. Really not liking this

  6. Magic AJ Parker

Yeh thats not a strip. Qld with great field position now gotta real bad feeling we look shot.

Had that game on ice before the second try. Last half an hour was pretty diabolical from NSW.

Kudos to Queensland, looked a lot more creative and vigilant for much of the game. Forward gap was reduced, backs looked too classy.

Yeah that gave it to them.
NSW with a trademark shitting of the bed.

And we're not gonna win a decider in QLD, that's a farewell for Cronk and Turdston.
    That's the series gone.

...and Slater has was taken out a number of times in the 1st half. Mostly by Baloney.

Yeh I dunno, it's not like QLD really showed anything new in that 2nd half it was just our worst half of the series.

Don't get me wrong it's going to be a big ask but I still think we're the better side so I give us a good chance.

It's like the refs secretly said to each other that taking players off the ball won't be a penalty tonight. Happened a number of times to both sides. On a couple occasions, right in front of the referee.

    Jackson MOTM, the fuck?

I thought Slater's kick defence was sensational, Napa had a really good stint in the 2nd half.

I dunno there weren't many stand outs for Qld tbh...

Glasby and Holmes with fucking shockers on debut, both must be dropped. Bring Thaiday and Goates back in.

  15. Mr Fourex MR Fourex

    Oates yes......

I thought Glasby got better as the game wore on.

No doubt. They all should've been pulled up. My point is I'm just so sick of watching us go to Sydney and get rorted out of penalties that actually set the standard for the match. I'm not saying overall we got rorted; just that there is a distinction between a stripping penalty or a missed forward pass, which don't set the standard for the rhythm of a match, as opposed to 10m pens and ruck pens which do. They are the bread and butter.

Apparently, NSW went 80 minutes without having any player hold down too long or a single player offside who got involved in the play? Not fucking possible. There is no such thing. You will never see that at a club game or a Test match and you practically never see it in Origin either. All our penalties came from strips and two for players being taken out. That is just bizarre.

You might be right. I thought the pen close to our line just before NSW's first try was for holding down. Might've been another offside so I'm open to being corrected on that.

Nevertheless, we received no holding down penalties and no offside penalties. That's a joke only slightly lessened if NSW received none of the former either.

Thaiday can fuck off. He's not a prop's arsehole.

I honestly don't know how we won that match. Incredible resilience and some really dumb play by NSW turned it on its head.

We got well beaten through the middle again though not as convincingly as Game 1. Defensively we improved but man we're still a long way from where we need to be. Pearce's try and Hayne's try were completely avoidable with simple man-on-man reads.

Aside from that great ball to Gagai, Chambers was really poor. Ran out 3 times (my tv was lucky to survive the last time) and was out of position defensively on several occasions.

It really was a tale of two halves or turning the tables. NSW played direct for 50 mintes and dominated, whilst we played laterally at ridiculous times. 16-6. We start playing more direct (McGuire, Cronk and Thurston all broke through) and NSW start playing laterally, 12-0 second half to us.
