      The halfback generally stands at first receiver, and his primary role is to organise the side, taking the right options, knowing when to consolidate, when to attack etc. The five-eighth typically plays one pass wider and injects himself when the opposition is on the back foot and it's time to execute a set play, or spin it out to the outside backs. Five-eighths generally have better vision and more crisp skills but halfbacks are better readers of the match situation and are more adept at knowing which options to take.
