Looking through the teams, it's really ****ing tight. I really wouldn't be surprised to see a team I name in the bottom 4 make the 6.

Herd Park might win this. Well covered in all departments. Gun keeper(Graham), good opening combo and goes aright with Choco and Lover as bowlers too.

  3. McGrath JE McGrath

Delonge Fields are better than Kovas' team

  4. Flack SA Flack

Oz is quality too, and Jones can spin up a few wickets for very little at times.

  5. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

The only reason that I didn't have them higher is that they have Lover at 7 and C Man at 8. Long tail ftl. Same for Read Creek.

  7. crowley DA Crowley

15 & 16 look right. I think Speirs Forrest will finish alot higher and Fung Lakes alot lower.

  8. Fungus K Fung

I think Ged might be overrating my team a bit much, but I still don't think it'll be too much lower. Should be top 6 hopefully.

  9. Ged GEC King

I reckon that 7 - 13 are all pretty even. As for Fung Lakes, I reckon that you should have another look at their team. It's quality all over the park.

  10. Farny AP Farnsworth

I do think we (Fung lakes) will be really strong, although I'd need to have a better look through the teams before putting us first...

  11. Ged GEC King

The thing about Fung lakes is that it has a strike bowler in Farny who's shown that he can get the best out consistently. Plus Davis, who showed in the mittens series that he's very good against those blokes on the fringe of firsts. Then you add in there Yates who absolutely dominated seconds and hasn't done too badly in first and that's a strike trio in this comp. Add to that Golding's handy spin (averaged 25 in alc last season) and Kozole, who is a steady alc contributor and the bowling's up there with the better ones like Read creek and Herd. What Fung has that's better though is a deep batting order and some pretty classy bats in the top 6.

Yates didn't dominate seconds at all, in fact he was pretty dire there. He's actually done much better in firsts, lol.

  13. Flack SA Flack

Only looked at a few of the teams so far, and I don't see why Read Creek is so high.. They have Armstrong and Manera who are strong, Julian isn't too bad, but other than that it's nobodies.

  14. Ged GEC King

Weaver dominated then? I knew one of them did.

  15. Cribbage RG Cribb

Yeah Weaver averaged about 15 with the ball in seconds I think, lol.

  16. Ged GEC King

Iirc, it's also got Crowley, Spinks and Surkelton. Add in there Read and Julian and that's pretty good.

  17. Flack SA Flack

Crowley has been getting pretty poor in recent seasons, look at his avgs. Surkelton is a similar story really and Spinks isn't that good is he?

I think Ged's point about Read Creek is that they don't have any players at all in the lineup who would look out of place in first grade. How these teams would fare in the BS and how they'll actually fare in this competition aren't really the same thing - having a myriad of fringe first graders could easily work out much better than having a couple of Test players and 5 genuine reserve graders.

  19. Ged GEC King

They'll all be good in this. It's a standard down and they're all still fc bowlers or fringe fc bowlers.

  20. Ged GEC King

They'll need a lot of runs from their top 3 but that's not out of the question and Read should be decent in the middle order. Their tail's a big concern though for me.
