Companion thread to the other one.

It's probably not the greatest overall, but our 2013 one was pretty bloody good:

    8. S Burgess
    9. Luke
    10. Asotasi
    11. McQueen
    12. Te'o
    13. Lowe

    14. Peats
    15. Lima
    16. G Burgess
    17. Tyrell

    Premiership winning side had:

    8. G Burgess
    9. Luke
    10. Tyrell
    11. Sutton
    12. Te'o
    13. S Burgess

    14. McQueen
    15. T Burgess
    16. Turner
    17. Clark

Couple more weak links there but the better players were really fucking good.

    From other teams:

The Dogs 04 pack stands out: Price, Perry, O'Meley, Mason, Ryan, Grimaldi with Hughes, SBW, Maitua and Asotasi on the bench. Not a great hooking combo but the prop/second row combos are crazy good.

Broncos entire pack was generally great from about 97-06. Very hard to pick one that stands out from another.

Storm had Lima, Cameron Smith, White, Jeremy Smith, Crocker, Johnson with Hoffman, Blair, Kaufusi and Manu off the bench for a while, though I think the system made a lot of those blokes look better than what they were (well that and it being millions of dollars over the cap)

    Dogs 04 was great

    Broncos 06 was fantastic

    Webby
    Berrigan
    Civo
    Thaiday
    Thorn
    Tunza

And Hanntan, Parker and Carlaw off the bench.

    Raiders best is probably 94

    Lomax (Osborne)
    Walters
    Pongia
    Croker
    Furner
    Clyde

with Meninga and Wiki at center essentially acting as 2 more running forwards when required. In terms of individuals Brad Clyde is still probably the best I have ever seen. What he did for the first 5/6 years of his career was phenomenal.

nrlstats redid all of the older finals and origins and Clyde in 89 is still arguably the greatest ever gf performance imo.

Current Roosters and Broncos packs are pretty nuts.

  9. Cribbage RG Cribb

I can see the 2019 Broncos pack looking stupidly gun in hindsight one day, especially for such a shit team.

No Gillett this year makes it less good on paper.

If we fucked Glenn off to the centres, and Lodge was fit

    Haas
    Turpin
    Lodge
    TPJ
    Fifita
    Carrigan

Including Offa offa bench, it's a very solid platform for Boyd to ruin.

Hughes and Perry.. fuck me that's a throw back. A lot of my mates were doggies fans and I used to give them so much shit about that rotation. Their bench in hindsight is ridiculous.

By no means the best ever but Easts early 00's was very strong when Wing played hooker.

J.Cayless, Morley, Wing, Fitzgibbon, Fletcher, Ricketson, Crocker, Flannery...

Both packs in 95 for Manly and Canterbury were also hectic. Gillespie, Hasler, Carroll, Menzies, Roberts, Kosef, Gartner. And Britt, Hetherington, Pay, Price, Dymock, Smith.

Not the best and not even close to the best - but my early favourite team was Manly. I dug this forward pack in 1990 from a google search.

Firm memories of Roberts beating up Gary Jack is something scarred on my mind.

    8 Martin Bella
    9 Matt Dunford
    10 David Hosking
    11 John Jones
    12 Ian Roberts
    13 Owen Cunningham

Menzies, Gartner and Kosef is one of the best backrows I’ve see .

  15. Sultan Pepper HG Emm

    8. Clinton
    9. Prddis
    10. Lang
    11. Galuvao
    12. Puletua
    13. Waterhouse

Then Shane Rodney coming off the pine and tidying up around in d around the ruck and Ross nipping in to get his head punched in. Thanks for coming.

How has it been 7 years since Galuvao retired! :'(

  17. Farhat AM Farhat

Eels best would probably be 2001

    8. N Cayless
    9. Drew
    10 Vella
    11. N Hindmarsh
    12. I Hindmarsh
    13. Wagon

    14. PJ Marsh
    15. A Ryan
    16. D Solomona
    17. J Cayless

    or 1999

    8. Pay
    9. Schifiliti
    10. Vella
    11. Hindmarsh
    12. McCracken
    13. J Smith

    14. Moran
    15. Tookey
    16. Weston
    17. Cayless

The 80’s forward pack is probably better but I don’t know them.

  18. Hurricane JD Hurricane

Did Jarrod McCracken play second row? When I knew him he was a centre.

  19. jazman84 JM Eightyfour

He moved into the back row later in his career.
