Thurston is such a gun. That performance after his injuries, and as we noted before, his goal-kicking could well be the difference and it was. Legend.

Glasby was actually pretty good running the ball. His post contact metres were strong. But defensively he was just so out of his depth early on.

Unless Wallace got injured, Walters completely fucked our rotation. Bringing Hess on to play middle third is about as dumb as it gets.

Surely Wallace got injured? Cunt got 20 minutes.

We kept going side to side and just slipping over 50% of the time. Hopefully the surface is better in Game 3. Thought all our debutants were pretty average to poor. Need bigger games from all of them.

He's got good footwork, used it well to find little gaps in his runs. Disgraceful defence to pretty much concede two tries though.

Morgan proving his worth again tonight. Filled in for Chambers and produced a flick pass to rival that which won the Cowboys the premiership.

I just can't believe they didn't learn after the early failures. Even late we tried it again and nearly fucked ourselves. Finally when someone decides to cut back in hard, we come up trumps. Even Boyd running sideways, making the Blues forwards chase was better than watching Chambers try to beat Hayne on the outside, which he is just never going to do.

We may not have been the better side tonight, and we may not go on to win this series, but this victory is up there with the best I've seen. 16-6 down, missing two stalwarts, beaten in the middle, playing with lots of rookies, in front of a packed and very hostile Sydney crowd. To come back and win that is just incredible.

That was a cannon ball tackle from Mcguire.

I'm as dismayed as you that Qld didn't get penalised once for slowing the play the ball down.

    Yeah true.

lol yeah right. Of course any fair-minded person could see both sides should've been reigned in for slowing the ruck repeatedly. We can't buy one in Sydney though. Nor a 10m pen. we've had 1 in 160 minutes of footy down there.

What did people think of Hayne last night? I didn't watch him that closely but a lot of people saying he should be dropped.

So happy. That was the QLD I know.

    Rocks and diamonds.
Had a few great touches in attack and defence,
And a few really costly errors.

  15. Wilson SB Wilson

He most definitely shouldn't be dropped. He was pretty bloody poor but there's no denying the kind of player he is. His biggest down fall last night was being too selfish and stupid. He's been around a long time, he should and normally would have better decision making than that. Not passing for a try, pushing passes, poor defensive choices rushing up in defence. Shit like that he should know better.

Qld fans criticised NSW for carrying on after game one and it's pretty funny because they're guilty of the exact same thing this game. Credit to them for sticking around and winning last night but throughout two games of footy they have been almost comprehensively outplayed. That's not to say they can't win Game 3, but this nonsense of it being too hard of a task to go up to Queensland and win there in a decider for a couple plebs last games, please. It's a ground with a tough home crowd yes, but it'll be conditions that a more suited to how we want to play. Queensland's attack has been extremely underwhelming thus far and doesn't frighten me at all. I'm pretty confident we can do it, and do it pretty easily.

I agree with the being comprehensively outplayed bit and that our attack has been off. That being said, if we click into gear there is no doubt we have a lot of points in us. Short of some desperate defence, QLD could've had 3 or 4 more tries this series. Guerra bombed over the line, Morgan was held up last night, Cronk and Gillett were brought down just short in amazing try savers. So there are chances on offer for us.

I don't think NSW will do it easily in Game 3 at Suncorp though, if they do win. We were much, much better last night even though we looked on the back foot for most of the match. Our kicking from two future immortals was the worst it's been. That won't happen again. And either side of that 15 minute period we did keep NSW scoreless for the rest of the match.

Gagai shouldve been motm in my opinion. He had a few errors but he never fails to impress. 190m, 2 tries and some very important work from our end. I really don't know how Jackson won it with 70m and 24 tackles.

What did you think of your boy Holmes, Wilson? I was pretty underwhelmed. It he's young and was foolishly played on the wrong side.

  19. Paddy P Orr

He made some pretty stupid decisions
I don't doubt NSW can win game 3. I think those who write them off are idiots given how NSW played game one (rather than just how bad QLD were). NSW have a good team this year whether they win game 3 or not they've been better than they have in a long time I can admit as such. I just hope though the incentive to send JT out a winner will get it done in Game 3. That's just me though.

That was awesome to see. I could understand concerns about having him in the team but I feel he will offer plenty once he (or if) becomes a starting half for the Maroons. His running game will be invaluable particularly.
