No Peachey is a god send to our middle third defence.

I just don't know why you wouldn't pick Aubusson, he's a better centre than Bird, natural in the 2nd row and played plenty of Dummy Half.

Bird is just a poor man's Aubusson with the look of a downie.

    Yeah, nah.

Even if it is a joke.

Can't remember the last time we were $2 at Suncorp. 1 live match loss in 11 years. I think we'll always be competitive with Smith, Cronk and Boyd in the spine but I just don't know how we match this NSW side for 80. It's incredibly important that we play from in front early. For the first time in a long time, a high scoring affair doesn't really suit us. Gotta grind away Melbourne style with the lead and hope the Blues don't complete too high.

    Carn the Maroons.

I think it would have been more concerning had Cronk been out and we went with DCE again. You're right about the need to play a more grinding style but would have been easier to do this on the Sydney surface.

Greenberg: "we have to find the balance between affordability for families, which is clearly at the top of our agenda..."

Mate, please. 800-$1500 is not affordable to the vast majority of families and you know it. You cunts have turned Origin in Brisbane into a family's vacation destination for that year.

It's utterly fucked up to take something of the cultural patrimony of Qld and price out lower classes/working people. They're the classes who built the fucking concept in the first place. Sure there has to balance but it's way off.

Oh no doubt. Brisbane games tend to be faster paced, but with more penalties. I'm hoping for a dour game with lots of stoppages. A 9-1 penalty count in our favour in the first half would be nice. :p

Pretty much need Napa to play out of his skin tonight. Lots of controlled aggression in both attack and especially defence. Can't be missing shitloads of tackles.

It's gone a bit untalked about but the loss of Thurston could prove pivotal just in terms of goal kicking. It could well be the difference.

Yeah that's what I'm talking about. Gillett does the same. Need to pick their moments, and not miss the target.

  14. Paddy P Orr

Yeah I ain't too trusting of Smith's kicking. He tends to miss simpler shots.

    Lol at the Pearce love-fest.

Fifita is killing us. Our middle third is a basket case. Gillett and O'Neill have been disgraceful in defence. Napa ripping in. Milford having a real go. Smith predictably missing kicks Thurston pots in his sleep.

That try before HT will cost us.

I don't even know how we're in this giving up 60m a set.

Regardless of everything, I'm fucking loving this. Excellent game so far for mine.

Actually thought Jackson did well @ lock, line speed and first up contact in the opening exchanges was extremely impressive.

    Would pick again.

Jackson's a decent enough player, whether it's at lock or second row. I just really think we could do better. We often get locked into these guys who are mentally tough enough to not fall to pieces in Origin and above average club players, because they just don't fail enough to be dropped (Ryan Hoffman was a great example), but we usually have better options. I'd much rather have Trbojevic or Frizell at lock with Vaughan on the bench.

  20. Julian BJ Taylor

Yeah there is no way in this world the team isn't better with Trbojevic at lock and Vaughan on the bench IMO.
