Morris is a one trick pony. No room for development. Can't play anywhere besides as a scraggy small defender.
If it were in the midfield perhaps. But in defense you've actually got to be able to defend and Ellis is a midfielder who is okay in defence so you've just put him there as you've got a midfielder too many. Morris is a top 5-10 small back in the comp when defense/off the ball is only included. Being elite defensively and okay offensively > being great offensively and okay defensively if playing in defense.
Yeah but development doesn't really matter in this. And there's nothing wrong with being a scraggy small defender if you don't concede goals and keep your opponent honest. As Morris does; he didn't concede the least goals of any full time defender last year for no reason
Granted he's had a below par start to the season by his own standards but I still can't think of many SDs in the comp I'd prefer to have manning up on a dangerous small than Morris. Nick Smith definitely but barring that it's tight. Jonas, Luke Brown, Rampe, Picken, Dempster, Toovey, Baguley spring to mind and that's really it
