Can't wait to see what Benji Marshall brings to union.

  2. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

    Nothing.

Read an article this morning saying Jared Waerea-Hargreaves may head back to Union in 2014. Not sure what position he'd play tbh.

Also mentioned that Roger Tuivasa-Sheck might think about heading to Union at some point. Though they both have plenty of years ahead of them to make such a call.

I've always guessed that the modern RL prop would slot in at number 8 in rugby, but Im no expert.

Think RTS would be wasted in union.

Yeah, Flanker or #8 would have to be the goer I would think. #8 does slightly more grunt work at the scrum in the modern game, I would say. Mind you, how mobile is he? To have visions of playing back row for the All Blacks, he'd have to be pretty mobile these days, and my view of him is more of his size and strength rather than speed and mobility.

Would say flanker is too specialised a role, tbh. Open side, especially. Doubtless a good athlete could learn it in time, but anyone making the jump across codes is expected to pretty much hit the ground running.

It's not coincidence the ABs used Sonny Bill as a centre, after he began life on the wing in French union.

SBW would be wasted in any rugby union forward role imo.

  9. Cribbage RG Cribb

He stacked on 18kg in the last offseason; he was very mobile before that. Would have to lose the weight again obviously.

AWTA. A flanker who always carries and never gets involved in the ruck is going to put a bit too much pressure on the rest of the forwards.

But really this is all in theory anyway, for all we know he played blindside for some junior team.

  11. Cribbage RG Cribb

Well yeah, JWH was a rugby union player until he was 19. Have no idea what position he played but I'm pretty sure he played national junior reps so we can probably look that up.

And Sam Tomkins next year aye?

Could be. Although we're better served at full-back and stand off than in the centres. Would be a great utility option, but the RFU isn't gonna spunk half a million or so on a bench player.

His big bro has set a low bar for him in any event.

  15. Furball G Furball

The RFU would be as well subsidising Super League tbh.

Burgess c'd going to Bath next season then, could be very handy if he can adapt.

  17. Magic AJ Parker

Surely he wont succeed at centre?

Don't you need some level of pace, mobility & skill?

  18. Magic AJ Parker

    lol get fucked cunt.

Just signed an NRL contract for the next 3 years and I'll be lovin every minute of it.

  19. Jabba HJ Bots

He'd make a much better backrower

  20. Mariner CL Warrington

Would be useless at ruck time
