Offseason Sevens Sim

    Rego has been working on a Sevens Sim that will run during the offseason. He has been testing it in the Sharks subforum and it looks good enough to help bridge the gap between seasons.

    Much like the Cricsim offseason compo, there will be no squads and the line-up will not change from match to match. There will be no injuries and players on the Test tour will be allowed to play.

    There will be 12 teams allowed into the competition, and teams will be selected by Draft.

    We need 12 team captains to volunteer to draft players. Only looking for reliable guys here, so pillocks need not apply.

    Rego will answer any reasonable questions you have.

    Yeah there'll be 12 teams of 7. 3 groups of 4. Each team will play everyone else in their group once. In the knockout stages there will be 4 trophies in order of merit: Cup, Plate, Bowl, Shield

    The only problem I see with this is that Groups A and B seem to have a double chance in the second round. Not a huge problem though.

    Yeah a bit of a disadvantage however the best team wins in the end as long as they turn up in the final. I can't think of a better way of doing it. I'll welcome suggestions.

    Just have the top two from each pool then have two other slots for the two teams with the best Points Diff or most pool points to make it a quarter final

    Put them into a Bowl, then the four who are knocked out in the quarters go into the plate, then the top 4 go for the cup?
